I was presented the concept of this book and asked to come up with a style of illustration and start on some design work with the characters, items in the book, and environment. I worked in conjunction with another digital artist who did the book layout, font placement, and is the artist who created the children seen in the book. I came up with the collage-like style of the book and different textures and shapes used for the water and creatures (like the whale) with sketch marks over the top of the shapes for definition. I also was able to create the shapes in the book that were required (circle, triangle, etc.) and stay within the aquatic theme.
