Missio Publishing

I was approached by Missio Publishing to design a cover for their new book, layout the interior and create some graphics inside. I first sent them two mock ups of potential covers that you can see to the right. Each element you see, I cut out of another image and placed into its new environment. For example, the person’s head in the image on the right was in one file, the church sitting inside of his head was in another. I clipped them out, skewed the church, arranged them together and created a shadow to help it read believably.

The image to the left, I took the man from one file and cut him out, placed him into the environment and then added stained glass windows on the top to indicate that it was a church setting he was walking out of. I also created his shadow to help ground him in the image.

Ultimately, they chose the image on the right to be the cover. The entire project needed three versions; one for print, one for kindle and one for ebooks.

Here you can see some of the interior of the book; the table of contents, section intro page and some pages with graphics.
